The sequel to Chasing Butterflies, Chasing Romance

The delicate balance of an early relationship. Chase with a net and she will fly. Entice with trust and she may light on your finger.

She was close to my finger in Cape May. I sensed some distance at the B&B in PA. Come Christmas it was time for her to go to China until February.

She invited me to meet her in San Francisco as a layover when coming home. Next, I had a conference in Prague in April and she was to meet me in there and then we would tour Budapest and Vienna.

I kissed her good bye the day after Christmas and she left for China to return in January

She landed. Romance achieved.

THEN COVID

She was stuck in China, no San Francisco; my conference got canceled - no Europe.

I kissed her good bye the day after Christmas and she left for China. Little did I know that would be the last I would see her.

We did WeChat as the virus slowly became a pandemic.

THE NOTE

The cold of winter came, February in fact when I got THE NOTE.

Reader’s Digest version:

“Since I’ve been away for so long…things are clearer…great guy…great times…no real attraction…so hard to write…but”

Her words for, “Your finger is nice. It felt safe to be here but butterflies must be free.”
