It is easier when you know who in your life can’t be trusted. A boss once promised me a huge bonus if the company sale went through so his cut would exceed $1.2 million. The final valuation increased his cut to $1.4 million after 3 solid weeks of 18 hour days. I knew he was slime from working for him so I did what was asked and my “huge” bonus was $15,000 (promised $100,000)

Since I knew him I was actually surprised it was that good.
