Letters to Mom

Mom

Mom passed away on December 10, 2019. I talk to her every day.

Thanks to Short. Sweet. Valuable, my conversations are “Letters to Mom.” Thank you Martynas Ki. (@strangecash) for the platform. Each letter will contain a tidbit about Mom and our conversations since she died.

Today’s Tidbit

Mom was a devout Catholic, mother to eight children and a New York Yankees fan.

Today’s Letter

Hi Mom! I think of you every day. Do you know why? It was the way you washed my hair as a toddler.

You lathered my head with shampoo and then used your fingernails on my scalp.

It hurt!

Next, the nails were replaced by soft fingers to finish the wash and rinse.

Every morning I wash my hair the same way. I still hurt my scalp and then I proceed to wash and rinse the same way you taught me. Even though, there is not much hair left.

I will talk to you tomorrow.

Love,
Jimmy
